How Fenrir Works: Copper Peptides, PDRN and the Beard-Growth Bet

Our beard growth serum, explained straight — why beard growth is the opposite of scalp (no DHT blockers, minoxidil-free), the copper peptides and PDRN, and the experimental edge of PP-405 and Dihexa.

Fenrir is our beard growth serum, and it's built on a principle that trips most people up: growing a beard is the biological opposite of keeping the hair on your head. So it's deliberately not a scalp serum in disguise. Here's the honest version of how it works — what's well established, what's genuinely experimental, and why we built it the way we did.

Why a beard is the opposite of a scalp

The hormone DHT shrinks the follicles on your head — it's what drives male-pattern balding, and our scalp serums (Follicle Sanctuary, Shield Wall) work by blocking it. On the face, DHT does the reverse: it's what thickens a beard in the first place. So Fenrir does the one thing a scalp serum never would — it leaves the androgens completely alone. No DHT blockers, by design. It's also minoxidil-free on purpose: minoxidil is dangerous to cats in tiny amounts, and a face-level product gets groomed and transferred far too easily.

The copper peptides and PDRN

The backbone is a trio of regenerative peptides. GHK-Cu and AHK-Cu are copper peptides — GHK-Cu is the best-studied skin-remodelling peptide there is, researched for signalling follicles, building new blood supply (angiogenesis) and rebuilding the surrounding tissue; AHK-Cu is its more hair-specific cousin. Alongside them sits PDRN, a salmon-derived DNA fragment used in aesthetic medicine for its repair and regeneration signalling. Together they're there to wake and feed the follicle.

Blood flow and a trichogen

Growth needs supply. Methyl nicotinate is a rubefacient — it briefly widens the surface capillaries to drive a warm flush and more local blood flow (the warmth is expected, and fades). Caffeine adds a mild lipolytic nudge, and Baicapil — a complex of skullcap root, soy and wheat sprout extracts — is a trichogen researched to extend the hair's growth phase and reduce shedding.

The experimental edge — PP-405 and Dihexa

This is where we'll be straight with you about the frontier. PP-405 is a clinical-stage hair-loss candidate — a mitochondrial switch being trialled to reactivate dormant follicle stem cells. Dihexa is a research peptide studied for growth-factor-like, blood-vessel-building activity. Both are early, neither has a cosmetic safety dossier, and that's exactly why Fenrir is a research-grade formula we offer with our eyes open — not a licensed medicine, and not a promise.

How to use it

Shake well, then press one to two droppers into the beard and the skin beneath, daily. Patch test first — the methyl nicotinate can tingle. It's for external use only, away from the eyes and never ingested. Give it months, not days; follicles work on a slow cycle. And nothing here is medical advice — if you have a skin condition or take medication, check with a doctor before you start.
